    Love knitting but at a loss as to how to how to put your garment together? A pile of unfinished projects? Then this course is for you. Learn to block and join and everything in between.

    You need to bring two swatches to the class 20 stitches wide by 30 rows as “we will spend the class sticking them together and tearing them apart!” (Jane Lithgow teacher)

  • Beginner Plus knitting

    For those who know how to cast on and off, knit and purl. This is the perfect opportunity to consolidate your skills and learn new ones. During the 5 week course, you will make a baby cardigan – learning how to read a pattern, rib, stocking stitch, shape, pick up stitches, make buttonholes, block and sew up. Of course all these skills can then be scaled up to make an adult garment.

    Homework will be required.

    You will need to bring 250g of aran weight yarn,  4mm and 5mm 80cm circular needles. All available to purchase at Nest.

  • Adult beginners knitting

    We will cover all the knitting basics and a bit extra! No previous knitting knowledge is required but by the end of the course you will be a confident newbie knitter.
    The course will include:

    • the very beginning – how to hold your needles and make a slip knot
    • casting on and off
    • knit and purl
    • garter stitch, stocking stitch, rib, moss st, stripes etc.
    • increasing and decreasing yarn, guage and tension reading a pattern designing your own simple pattern

    * price includes a set of needles and ball of yarn plus tea/coffee and biscuits
